Background

I originally grew up in a place called Prospect Park.  When I was little, I did not realize how poor of an area it was until I grew up.  Living in an area like this taught me how I did not want to grow up like the people I was surrounded by.  So once I moved to Garnet Valley, I set out a new path for my life and I promised myself I would grow up to be something more.

Growing up I was surrounded by sports.  Being on sports teams since I was a little girl had an influence on me and the person I am today.  Being on a team made me learn how to work well with others,  be cooperative, and how to be competitive.  I still utilize these tools in my life to this day.  Being able to work with others and get along with my peers has taught me to be flexible and a problem solver.  And being competitive has given me an edge over my competition because I love being the best and striving to be perfect.

Extra Curriculars

I participated a travel soccer team that was based out of Aston.  For twelve years, I held a starting position of the Strikers until our team folded in 2017.  While on the Strikers, I was captain of the team along with two other girls.  I received the MVP Award four times as well as the Coach's Award.

Freshman year, I joined the Varsity diving team.  I competed for two years and while being on this team I earned the Coach's award both times.  Diving is a completely different kind of sport that I have never experienced before.  Diving made me realize that I will not always be able to depend on a team to help me, because it is only me on the board.

After sophomore year, I decided to be the swim and dive team manager.  Being a manager leaves me responsible for maintaining the scores for all of the events and keeping track of them.  I also have to announce the events and run the scoreboard, as well as total up the numbers at the end of the meet.

Interests/Hobbies

One of my favorite hobbies is traveling.  I am very fortunate to be able to travel to different countries and experience different cultures.  I have visited six different countries, all being better than the last.  While on vacation, I do many adventurous activities.  Some of the most exhilarating things I have done was swimming with sharks, ziplining on some of the highest lines in the world, walking through an open alligator exhibit, and cliff jumping.  I love seeing new people and trying new foods that I never have eaten before.  Traveling will always be something I can continue to do in my life.

Another interest of mine is cooking.  i enjoy trying new recipes and making a meal from scratch.  I also enjoy making my own recipes and seeing how they turn out.  Once I make a meal that seems to be tasty, I add ingredients to enhance or perfect the dish.  Cooking is my creative outlet which always me to try new things.  When I fail or a dish does not turn out right, I do not get discouraged.  I just try again and learn from mistakes.

Growing up around sports forced me to love being outside.  Something I enjoy doing is taking walks in the woods or in parks, especially with my dogs. Being outside is so important to me.  I love biking, running, fishing, and swimming.  I enjoy riding four wheelers and snowboarding in the summer, and "attempting" to surf and paddleboard in the summer.
